Everyone wants to visit the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Asia Minor, Ephesus. The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Today, it's the most important archaeological and historical city in Turkey. The ruins also include a huge amphitheatre with a 24.000 seat capacity and superb acoustic effects, a gymnasium, agora and baths, the Library of Celsus and other and other traces of the old word. Ephesus contains the largest collection of Roman ruins in the East of the Mediterranean. Only an estimated 15% has been excavated. The ruins that are visible give some idea of the city's original splendour.

You can spent one day on a one of the golden fine sandy beaches of Cesme. Also some places, close to Cesme, are suitable for nautical sports such as surfing, sailing and diving.
... or to have a walk on the Izmir's sea shore. You can have a rest to one restaurant, close to the sea, to taste the Turkish dishes with lots of eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, grilled kebabs and yogurt sauces or fish specialities and to enjoy the amazing Turkish sweets.
